We're still alive. 😅 

Sorry for our absence. Things have been crazy busy on our end!

First, let me share the great news that we passed all the inspections and purchased all the permits! As of last week, we have been approved for our Certificate of Use! This was the biggest and most difficult hurdle. So, suffice to say, we are feeling beyond blessed to have that behind us! *phew* As soon as we receive our documentation in the mail, we will get everything filed with the health department and be ready for our Grand Opening!

Planning the Grand Opening is slow going as we are not trying to get ahead of the city again. (Our COU took approximately 6 months longer than the city told us it was going to when we first applied in October. That caused an insane amount of financial difficulty, which we do not want to repeat.) We are planning what we can while we wait and putting the call out to any and all vendors, artists, and artisans who would like to participate in the festivities. If you are interested in being a part of our event, please email us at covenjax@gmail.com with Grand Opening Event in the subject. We will respond as soon as we have a date locked down for the event, so no rush. We're just trying to gauge interest in participation. Also, it is important to know that all of the GoFundMe donor rewards will be available at the Grand Opening! (We are happy to send your rewards via USPS if you are not local or are reasonably unable to attend the event.)

One of our favorite parts of this studio is the Featured Artist Wall when you first walk in. You may have seen a peg board that, as we were setting up shop, we filled with some of Angel Mae's crochet pieces. Now that we are open, it is time for it to serve it's purpose. We are going to be featuring one local artist or artist group each month. If you are interested in being featured, please email CovenJax@gmail.com with "Artist Feature Request" in the subject. Include your name(s), a number you can receive text messages at, and a few examples of your work.

Requirements for feature are:

Must be 18+, as we do not allow minors in the studio.

Must have enough work to fill the space available.

Must be able to get your work to the studio and display it with in 2 business days before art walk of your month.

Must be able to retrieve any unsold works 3 business days prior to the next month's art walk. (To allow the next artist/artisan to set up.)

Must be 50% or more 'works for sale' and prices set in advance.

Featured Artists receive 80% of all sales of their work, inclusion in all social media promotion/ posts, 20% off any purchases they make during their month at Coven, as well as a special discount for their friends and family during their month! Additional benefits may be added as well.
