Today, we stated with a clear plan of the steps needed to get Coven open for business. (A certificate of use, biohazard ☣️ permit, a utility bill, and an application to the health department.) Just 4 things. Easy peasy.  Because it is Indigenous People's Day, all the necessary federal offices were closed. Ash was at Untouchables Avenues today. David got a ton of painting done. Angel finished stringing and hanging transparent and iridescent beads in the front window.  Tomorrow, important calls will be made, important forms filled out, and *fingers crossed* we'll get the lights on. David is going to finish painting and Angel is going to keep working on making Coven into her dream studio. We'll also be adding a new featured local artist to the  gofundme  tomorrow. So, be sure to check back.  [David painting.] [He got a lot done.] [Angel can't wait to finish adding the embellishments to this bead curtain.]

Yesterday was a big day! Angel Mae and David met with the city inspector at the storefront. We passed our electrical inspection and are now one step closer to opening! Ash was available at Untouchables for walk-ins. David and Angel met with family at Hanna Park for a little bit of a reunion. Afterwards, they went to Home Depot and bought some more things for the storefront.  Everyone is glad the inspection passed. As soon as the lights are on, build out efforts can begin in earnest.  Today, all of our artists were at Untouchables in the Avenues. Ash knocked out a walk-in, Angel did a shark tooth mom piece, and David touched up the last session on Lana's headpiece.  [Shark tooth mom tattoo by Angel Mae Glutz] [The latest update on Lana Del Fae's head tattoo by David Henderson] Angel Mae and David will be at Untouchables Avenues tomorrow. Angel is booked but David will be accepting walk-ins from noon to 6pm. You can text David at (502)208-9066 to sch...

We have been so so busy that we forgot about our blog! Wack. We signed the lease, paid a deposit (much gratitude to the gofundme for covering the first 1600 of our 2500 deposit), and got the key. This week we've been focused on cleaning and painting. The storefront was previously a barber shop so the amount of work to get the built out completely finished is much less than anticipated.  David picked the colors and we all love them! Work in progress.  David getting the old stickers off the windows.  We will be tattooing at Untouchables Avenues this weekend. Back in Coven full time Monday to start setting up the tattoo booths!

This week, our major goals are getting the utilities turned on, cleaning, and painting.  Not much to update this evening. Our team is still working at Untouchables until Coven's grand opening. Today, we all came in for 3 friends getting matching tattoos. Tomorrow, Ash will be at Untouchables, Avenues. David and Angel will be working on the shop.  3 best friends tattooed by our artists today.

Yesterday, we signed the lease and got the key to our first storefront! Coven's address will be 6011 103rd st Suite 5, Jacksonville, FL 32210! All of the Coven artists will begin work on the storefront this week. Our goal is to have our grand opening by Dia de Los Muertos.  We've been posting updates to our gofundme . If you click the link you can be among the first to see our artists and find out how you can support us opening. Donor rewards include discounts and free tattoos.  (David took this photo of Angel Mae moments after she was handed the key to our storefront.)
